Welcome to the Lakeland Library Newsletter!  Each month, we will showcase classes, events, and other fun and interesting facts about the Library and our staff. We will also keep you informed of new resources and services that are designed to assist you in your course work, and personal and professional lives.

Relax with Librarian Megan Mamolen during finals stress relief meditation from May 4th - May 8th. Twenty minute guided meditation sessions will be provided every day at 12:00PM online. No previous experience is required. Click to join the meditation session

Although we can't see our students, faculty, and staff in person, we at Lakeland Library are thinking of you and would like to provide you with some helpful stress relief resources to get through finals and these uncertain times. In our April newsletter, you will find free resources such as funny videos, links to exercise classes, digital book suggestions, virtual tours and concerts, and even a joke or two! We are also offering week day meditation sessions during finals week. We wish you and your families well, and look forward to "seeing" you soon!

Movement is essential for physical and mental health. Keep moving with these free exercise resources that you can access from home today:

Down Dog is offering free access to their apps including Down Dog, Yoga for Beginners, HITT, Barre, and 7 Minute Workouts until July 1st for students and teachers from K-12 schools and colleges. Just sign up using your Lakeland email. 

Peloton is offering a 90-day free trial to new customers through its app. The free trial includes yoga, meditation, strength training, cycling, running and more.

Golds Gym is offering free access to its app until the end of May. The app comes with more than 600 audio and video workouts. Redeem the code FIT60 at check out. The promo code must be activated by April 30.

Planet Fitness is offering free live workouts on their Facebook page every day at 7pm ET. If you miss the live workout, you can view the recorded videos afterwards. 


Virtually explore museums, historic landmarks, and more

Cleveland Museum of Art's ArtLens App allows users to explore the museum's collection from anywhere using a smart phone or tablet. 

International Space Station offers a guided tour of the International Space Station by NASA astronaut Suni Williams. 

The Great Wall of China virtual tour allows you to experience this historic landmark from home. 

Hestercombe Gardens offers a 360 degree virtual tour of a beautiful English garden and estate. 

The Smithsonian Museum of Natural History allows virtual visitors to explore each exhibit with 360 degree views.

Cleveland Metroparks Rocky River Reservation has a cam at the bald eagle's nest.
