I always anticipate the arrival of fall and the start of a new academic year. Though the challenges we face during the current pandemic are mighty, the start of this academic year holds out the promise of new beginnings: classes will be taught, lectures given, ideas explored, tests taken, friends made, and assignments turned in. However, this year will start out differently than other years since much of that activity will take place remotely. The faculty and staff of Lakeland Library remain committed to delivering high quality resources and services to you whether you are working from home or in a classroom somewhere on campus. Lakeland librarians will continue to answer reference questions, provide research appointments, and teach classes remotely this fall. The library will resume some onsite services too: circulating print materials, including Lakeland and OhioLINK books, through no-contact curbside and lobby pickup; delivering no-contact print/copy/scan-to-email services; and providing no-contact access to Textbook Reserves. You’ll find more information on these services in this newsletter. The faculty and staff of Lakeland Library look forward to facing these challenges with you and turning them into opportunities to learn and grow together.
