Career Search Resouces

To find books in the Lakeland and OhioLINK catalogs, go to the "Find Books in Print of Electronic Format" box on the library's page in myLakeland. Looking at the center column, scroll down the page until you get to the "Find Books in Print of Electronic Format" box. You'll see numerous options that will allow you to search for both print and e-books. Simply click the option you wish to search.

A great place to start is with "Lakeland Books," which will allow you to search Lakeland's locally held collections, or "OhioLINK Books," which will allow you to search print and e-books available to you from colleges and universities around the state. 

Here are some search examples:    "vocational guidance" AND IT

"vocational guidance" AND nursing

"Vocational guidance" is the subject heading for books related to careers and employment. Using it will help you quickly locate information related to your field of interest. 

You can also search with the following phrase: "institute for career research." The Institute for Career Research publishes an excellent series of books on a wide variety of careers. There are 283 Institute for Career Research books in the Lakeland collection on careers including allergist, UX design, and green energy.
