Lakeland Library Edible Book Contest

 

Who: Anyone affiliated with Lakeland Community College can participate, including community members.

When: Tuesday, March 28th. Edible books will be displayed during the Library's Connect Fest, 11:00am-1:00pm.

Where: Lakeland Library, 3rd floor, C-building

How: Review the guidelines on this page, sign up using the digital registration form by Tuesday, March 21st, and compete to take home prizes for your book-inspired food art!

Guidelines

Eligible Participants 

Lakeland students, faculty, and staff as well as community members affiliated with Lakeland Community College are encouraged to participate!

Group Submissions

Group submissions are welcome! 

Acceptable Entries...

  • Must be inspired by a book.
  • Should be entirely edible with the exception of toothpicks, food wrappers, or other minimal decorations. 
  • Should not require refrigeration. Entries will be displayed for 2-3 hours.
  • Entries will not be eaten, so while they must be edible, they do not have to be appetizing! Entries will not be judged on taste. 

Registration

Sign up online using our digital registration form! Please provide your contact information and the title of book that will be the focus of your edible creation. Participants must register by Tuesday, March 21st. 

Judging & Prize Categories

Submissions will be displayed at Connect Fest in the library on Tuesday, March 28th. Connect Fest attendees will vote for their favorites throughout the event. Votes will be tallied and the winners will be announced following the event. Prizes will go to the top three edible books!
