We are thankful for you!
Lakeland Library's faculty and staff would like to thank all of you for your support during the migration of nearly all of our resources in the library to new systems and platforms. This was an enormous 18-month collaborative effort, and we want to give a special shout out to our partners in IT who have helped us transfer all patron records, system authentication, Blackboard set up for Leganto, and configuration of email notifications. We are so excited to share more new resources with all of you next year!

Finals Stress Relief is next week!
Join us in the Library Monday, December 1st - Friday, December 5th for free stress relief giveaways! We will have winter themed treats (chocolates, peppermints, pretzels), a winter landscape to decorate, and our usual variety of relaxation games and items. We hope to see you next week!

Leganto Testing is Here!
The Library's migration project includes implementation of several brand new services from our Ex Libris vendor, including a Blackboard reading list tool called Leganto. Leganto is "an integrated solution that creates, maintains, and shares interactive course resource lists, optimizing the use of library collections, reducing the administrative burden on faculty, and making higher education a lot more affordable." Implementation of Leganto is nearing completion, and we are excited to announce that several faculty have joined us in a pilot study to test Leganto functionality in Blackboard and help us align Leganto configuration with college needs. A soft launch of Leganto is expected for all Blackboard course sites Spring 2026 semester.

Heather Canfield, Reference & Instruction Librarian
Please help us welcome Heather Canfield to Lakeland's Reference faculty! Heather is an Army veteran who's worked in almost every kind of library from public to academic to medical and even correctional. In her free time, Heather enjoys walking along Lake Erie looking for beach glass and driftwood, which she would love one day to turn into art. Heather also enjoys kayaking, biking and hiking with her husband.

Sherri Pittard, Circulation Services Assistant
Please help us welcome Sherri Pittard to Lakeland Library's Circulation Staff! Sherri recently retired from Cleveland Metropolitan School District after teaching Visual Art for 36 years. She taught 32 of her 36 years at Newton D. Baker School of Arts (PreK-8th grade) on the far west side (westpark area). During her free time, Sherri enjoys creating art (especially fused glass), perennial gardening, canning, cooking/baking, kayaking, walking in the lake metro parks, practicing yoga/reiki, reading, and rooting for team Germany during the FIFA World Cup.
