Welcome to the Lakeland Library Newsletter! Each month, we will showcase classes, events, and other fun and interesting facts about the Library and our staff. We will also keep you informed of new resources and services that are designed to assist you in your course work, and personal and professional lives.
Anne Wendel, Circulation Services Assistant
Please help us welcome Anne Wendel to Lakeland Library's Circulation staff! Anne previously worked for Lakeland's Part time faculty office. A fun fact about Anne is that she believes small acts of kindness can have a big impact and she tries to live that out every day, through volunteering. One of Anne's favorite roles is being a part of a card writing team where they celebrate milestones and support others through hardships with handwritten notes/ cards. Anne says "It is a simple way to show people they are not alone. It may brighten someone's day or bring comfort during a difficult time." Anne also volunteers with the Lake County Council of Aging as a shopper for seniors. Each week she picks up groceries and essentials for older adults who may not be able to go on their own. Anne says "It is more than running errands, I believe, it's building trust, exchanging stories and sometimes just being there to take a minute to talk and check in."

Happening Summer, 2025:
Lakeland Library has Accomplished a Complete Digital Refresh!
All together, Lakeland Library has worked for over a year implementing the following new research resources and upgrades to ensure Lakeland students, faculty, and staff have a more up-to-date, streamlined, and user-friendly searching experience:
Huge shout out to all library staff and faculty, and Lakeland IT who worked tirelessly to make this possible!
Full-Text Finder Has Been Updated!
When searching our EBSCO databases (e.g. Academic Search Complete, CINAHL, Business Source Complete), you may have noticed that a "full-text finder" button leads you to full-text copies of some of your articles. This button has now been updated to seamlessly point you to full-text copies of your resources in the new Primo platform. The interlibrary loan request form has also been updated in EBSCO databases to incorporate a more modern structure. Enhancements like these will continue as we fully transition our resources this summer.
