Lakeland Library Newsletter: Welcome to Spring 2025

Find all of your latest Library news here!

Welcome!

Welcome to the Lakeland Library Newsletter!  Each month, we will showcase classes, events, and other fun and interesting facts about the Library and our staff. We will also keep you informed of new resources and services that are designed to assist you in your course work, and personal and professional lives.

E-Resources Update

Lakeland has access to two new databases!

Through our partnership with OhioLINK, Lakeland Library has acquired SAGE Business Skills and SAGE Student Success Skills. Check out the new SAGE databases for self-guided tutorials, quizzes, videos, and more.

ACM database will not be renewed by OhioLINK

OhioLINK voted to end access to the ACM database December 31, 2024. After January 1st, 2025, OhioLINK libraries that participate in the Electronic Journal Center will continue to have access to previously-purchased ACM e-journal content at the EJC

Questions? Please contact Megan Mamolen (mmamolen1@lakelandcc.edu) or Tom Hyland (thyland@lakelandcc.edu).

Introducing...

Kellie Cavender, Circulation Services Assistant

Please help us welcome Kellie Cavender to Lakeland Library's Circulation staff! Kellie has two degrees from Kent State University; BA in Sociology and an AS in General Science. Kellie is currently enrolled in Kent State University again to complete a Master's of Library and Information Science. A fun fact about Kellie is that she has been a beekeeper for six years and made a world record with women all over the world for "The Most Photos of Women Beekeeping Uploaded in 24 Hours" in 2023.
